Although it was nasty and freezing this weekend we still had a great time playing and snuggling indoors. Olive has become quite the talkative little girl- making lots of squeals and giggles and Lola is her favorite person. I love watching Lola entertain her. They are so funny together and so sweet.I know you wish you had Olive’s hair. haha. It has a complete mind of its own. Well…both of theirs do.
It has been a couple years since we have made it back to JMU. We finally planned a weekend back at our home away from home and couldn’t wait to get there. Harrisonburg is beautiful in the fall- there is nothing better than being back there tailgating with family for their last game of the season.
Lola loved every second of the weekend. She seemed to think eating in the back of Papa’s truck was one of the coolest things in the world. Then watching all the glitz at the game from dancers to fireworks she was having a ball. Olive Mae was also enjoying herself- either bouncing on one of our laps or snuggling in her blanket.
I wish we could have stayed longer. It’s such a great feeling being back there…so many amazing memories. Alan and I had a story to reminice about everywhere we went. Oh and we also informed Lola this would be where she and Olive Mae will attend in the future (but only if Alan and I can buy a house in the area to keep an eye on them)- not sure if they would like that rule- ha.
So glad its Friday! Just positing a few family photos of the girls this week! Did I mention I have the two sweetest little girls on this earth? Lola is such a precious and kind little soul and Olive Mae seriously smiles just about all day. Such blessings. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
We had a great Halloween last week. Lola was Minnie Mouse (whom she adores)! She was the cutest little mouse around. Olive Mae mostly relaxed in the stroller or in Nana’s arms wearing her little pumpkin outfit. We went to a couple houses to trick-or-treat then came back home to have a little bonfire in the driveway and hand out more candy.
My favorite weekends are the ones where we start out with no plans at all. This weekend had absolutely perfect fall weather.
Friday night we went to the local high school football game (our neighbor plays) and Lola loves him! So she had a ball watching him, the cheerleaders, and the band play! Saturday, one of our favorite spots to get a treat, Sweetly Smitten, celebrated their one year anniversary with a fun Fall event for customers and kids. We enjoyed lots of gelato and cupcakes! Sunday we played outside and worked on decorating some pumpkins. Lola got sticker happy and Olive laid on the blanket just smiling non-stop. She has become such a smily, giggly little baby!
I also made this Chili recipe yesterday! Its a delicious one if you are looking And just had to throw in a few pictures of Lola helping me grocery shop because they’re just so darn cute.
Can you believe it is already October? Due to the 80 degree weather today, one would think differently. However, the leaves are starting to fall a lot more now and the temperature is supposed to turn colder in the coming … Continue reading →
Last Saturday we had a girl day, which I guess comes easy these days now that I have two precious girls. Unfortunately, Alan had to work so Mom and I took Lola and Olive to our local Farmers Market, just down the street from where we live. Lola had so much fun running through the hay maze and getting stuck at all the “dead ends.” She then walked around looking at all the big and small pumpkins. She picked out one for her and one for Olive Mae. There was also a very scary, life-size witch statue that moved and made noises…I would of thought she’d of been super scared of it. Instead she ended up loving the scary witch and didn’t want to leave its side. She kept asking to go back and see the witch. Silly girl.
It was a great day and I can’t wait until Olive is a little older and I can watch her and Lola run around the maze together. Here is a little flashback of last year’s trip.
Our precious Lola turned two this past weekend and we celebrated with what was supposed to be a “picnic at the park.” I planned the party several months ago and wanted it to be small, and by a quaint little spot at our local park. Well as we drove up to the park Saturday we wondered why hundreds of people were also pulling into the park…surely they weren’t all coming to Lola’s party. Nope there was just an enormous festival the same day! Guess it just wasn’t on the calendar when I checked back in June. Ahhhh! So we quickly called everyone and switched the party to our front yard. No biggie, right…
It really didn’t matter, either way, Lola had a great time! She ran around flying her little kite with a few of her friends, played on the slide, ate cake, and opened some presents. It turned out to be perfect kite flying weather also. I handmade the kids kites following these directions. They are super easy and flew pretty good with a little wind. I also have to share the cake I made because it has got to be one of the best I have ever tasted, for real! It is Martha’s Chocolate Flecked Cake and was unbelievable.
Can’t believe my baby girl is two. Happy Birthday sweet Lola.
My sweet little baby turns two today! Oh my gracious…the years flew by. Lola has made these past two years the best of my entire life. She makes us smile everyday and we thank god for blessing our family with such a precious little girl.
No time to write a long post as we are having a family day busy with lots of playing, baking, eating, and snuggling! Birthday party to come
