Say what!? Lola bug just turned three! She is such a sweet, smart and funny little girl. As soon as she woke up the morning of her birthday we told her there was a surprise outside waiting. So outside we went, still in pajamas. She spotted her new Barbie Jeep and hopped in to take it for a spin…loved it! She even gave Olive a couple rides around too. That afternoon we had some family and a couple of her friends over for a little backyard painting party. The kids had bunches of fun running and screaming around the yard, painting, and eating cupcakes. After everyone left we curled up and watched her birth video. She was mesmerized watching “Baby Lola.” What a blessing she is in our life. We are so grateful to God for these girls.
I know, everyone says time flies when you have kids. But seriously, this year flew by insanely fast. Im guessing once you have more than 1 child it goes faster because you are more busy than before. What an amazing year. Olive is so sweet and full of life. She has a spunky little personality and loves to giggle and snuggle. All Lola has to do is make a funny face her way and she’s all giggles. We love watching them to spend time together and can’t wait for so many more great sister memories for them. Although, I keep reminding them to SLOW DOWN! Momma doesn’t want you to grow up too fast!
Here are a couple photos from Olive’s birthday. Happy Birthday baby girl!
I had an idea to go on a little fishing outing for Father’s Day this year for Alan and my Dad. The weather was beautiful so we headed out to the pond in hopes of Lola catching her first fish.
Olive mostly played on the blanket, enjoying the shade. Lola was pretty good at casting, but mostly enjoyed rearranging her tackle box, or watching the worms. As a little girl ALL I wanted to do was play with the tackle box. Everytime I was on the boat with my Dad I organized my tackle box most of the time. And Lola has that very same tackle box for herself now. Sweet to watch her do the same.
After about an hour and a half with no luck we packed up the car to get ready for dinner. Lola cast one last time, and wouldn’t you know she got a big bite! We all jumped, screamed, and cheered with her. She was squealing with excitement, and immediately said, “I wanna catch another one!” Looks like there will be more fishing in our near future. 🙂
Such a great day with two amazing Father’s!
We have had a great couple of weeks, just very busy. Maybe it’s because the school year is winding down….13 more days to go! Days seem to be flying by. I cannot believe my sweet Olive is 9 months old now. She smiles almost the entire day and has the cutest giggle. Lola is helping trying to teach her to crawl right now. She FINALLY said “Momma” this past weekend. Definitely was not her first word, having said Dada, Lola, Papa, and Bye Bye all before Momma.
The weather has been really great allowing us to spend many days outdoors. We have been planting flowers, spending time at the pool, and cooking out alot. Hope yall have had a great spring and are also ready for summer 🙂
I am going on day 6 of being home with Lola and Olive. We were out at the end of last week for snow days. And unfortunately now Im home because Lola has been running a high fever for 3 days. I will say this morning it finally looks like the fever might of broke. So, sad to be going back to work, but very glad she’s feeling better.
Either way we have had LOTS of play and snuggle time. Alan and Lola made it out during the snow to make a snow man, which is one of her favorite things to do! Olive and I watched through the window. And then just a day or two later the sun came out and we were able to take a walk. Other than that we have been cooking and baking lots to help pass the time. Lola’s a great helper/mess creator. And Olive just enjoys doing anything with anyone- especially Lola!
Hope y’all are having a good week so far.
I am extremely behind on blogging but am really going to try and get back to it! About a week and a half ago I celebrated my 29th birthday. It was a wonderfully simple day filled with lots of hugs from my students and dinner with my favorite people in the world, my family. My mom made a delicious chocolate cake topped with vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache, and also a tray full of confetti cake cupcakes (always loved them growing up)…yum! Lola was eager to help eat it all. It was a great day and I cannot believe 30 is approaching so quickly…time is seriously flying by.
Olive is still too young to know what is going on. However, this was the first year Lola really understood everything and watching her was the best thing in the world. It truly makes you feel like a kid again, and also puts alot into perspective of what my parents did for us on Christmas. She was so excited when she woke up to find Santa had left her gifts, eaten her cookies, and the reindeer had eaten all the carrots. Her sweet little face lit up with excitement. Olive played nearby with one of her new teethers!
Such a wonderful time of year.
Although it was nasty and freezing this weekend we still had a great time playing and snuggling indoors. Olive has become quite the talkative little girl- making lots of squeals and giggles and Lola is her favorite person. I love watching Lola entertain her. They are so funny together and so sweet.I know you wish you had Olive’s hair. haha. It has a complete mind of its own. Well…both of theirs do.
Today is my last day of maternity leave. I’ve been home since June so it seems like forever I’ve been away from the classroom. My sweet Olive is 3 months old now and will be going to the babysitter with Lola starting Monday. Today I am snuggling extra close and holding Olive during her nap instead of putting her down. And Lola has told me she is going to take care of her little sis so I can rest easy. Precious girls.
We had a great Halloween last week. Lola was Minnie Mouse (whom she adores)! She was the cutest little mouse around. Olive Mae mostly relaxed in the stroller or in Nana’s arms wearing her little pumpkin outfit. We went to a couple houses to trick-or-treat then came back home to have a little bonfire in the driveway and hand out more candy.
